i was watching the news just now and Comfort taxi is going to change its fare to $2.80 when u step your foot inside the cab. i missed the golden days when the fare started with merely $2.40 and peak hour surcharge $1..
worse, they are going to change the peak hour rate to 35% of your fare! If your ride costs you around $3.50 (because you started with $2.80 you see and the distance travelled rates are increasing too) you need to pay $1.30 of peak hour charge.. It is cheaper compared to the $2 charge now. BUT WHAT IF YOUR DESTINATION IS FUGLY FAR????
take for example if your ride is around $10 = $3.50 peak hour charge! $1.50 more than usual!
They say that it is because nowdays cabby uncles earn litte.. hey, then reduce their car rental lah!
You increased their car rental fee and increase our communters's fare to help them. Why not you charge them cheaper? like $5 lesser per day? Comeon, you have 15,000 cabs under your company.. You just sit back and collect money when the taxi uncles risked their health and chances of being robbed/ people not paying for rides.
and they are urging other companies to increase their fares too~! WTF =.="
